Masumi Hakashima

In appearance a middle-aged Japanese businessman, Hakashima is generally found in the attire of a wealthy corporate executive.  He is cold and ruthless, uncaring of life and seemingly concerned only with his bottom line.  There can be little doubt that this inhuman attitude stems from the fact that he is not entirely human himself.   Hakashima is a cyborg, half of his human brain replaced by a nano-net computer similar to the one inside Mitch's cranium.  In addition, Hakashima's blood is swarming with nanotech machines that give him strength and healing capacities far in excess of those possessed by any normal human.

Not much else is known about Hakashima, as unlike many of his associates he chooses to remain in the background.  What is known is that he holds a position of power within McAllister Industries, perhaps even sitting on the Board of Directors.  This would also make him part of the Technocratic Union's Inner Circle, and thus explains his access to such sophisticated cybernetic enhancements.

His bodyguard and henchman is Akira, a ninja assassin of immense and lethal skill.  Laos has noted that Akira uses the attack style of the kuji-kiri ryu, the deadliest of the ninja schools, and combines his own fearsome abilities with high-tech weapons such as vibroblade swords and high-explosive throwing stars.  Akira is invariably silent, a master of stealth, and moves with catlike agility.
