Eight-year-old Penny Potter escapes from the Donning Institute, aided by the Parallax Club.  Louise de Bourchalle becomes her legal guardian and Penny joins the Club.

Louise locates a copy of the Apocrypha of the Damned, one of the lost sections of the Book of Nod.  It allegedly describes the nine signs that herald the coming of Gehenna.  Shortly afterwards, the Club realise that they themselves are a group of the "Iron-Willed" as described in the prophecy; they are all seemingly immune to most forms of mind control, including vampiric Domination.

The Parallax Club travel to Russia, exploiting a temporary gap in the Shadow Curtain.  They encounter Baba Yaga, and for her own inscrutable reasons the Little Grandmother allows them to think they have returned her to torpor.

Story : A Meeting of Minds.

During a trip to Arcadia and a visit to the Royal Archives, it is revealed that Pandora is of the House Royal of Arcadia.  It later emerges that Pandora is a child of Oberon but not Titania, possibly explaining the Faerie Queen's long-time antipathy towards her.

Samael, Louhi and Baal-Dagon of the Ravening Ones awaken from torpor.  The Grand Council begins to get reports of Kindred vanishing under mysterious circumstances across the globe.

Story : The Winter King.

The Parallax Club travel for the first time to The Shadowlands, encountering the Hierarchy and even briefly meeting Charon himself.
