Running Wolf

As you will see from the information on the Lycanthropes, each of the seven remaining tribes has a Great Spirit, or Incarna, that watches over them.

The current Incarna of the werewolves, the race that call themselves the Garou, is an elderly Native American named John Running Wolf.  His human tribe is the Navajo, his Garou breed the Uktena.  The spirit that lives within him is Fenris, the Great Wolf of the North.

In their encounters to date, the Parallax Club have found him to be patient, honourable and immensely wise in the fashion of all good Red Indian elders.  Jake doesn't trust him fully, of course, but much of that is down to ancestral memories of the War of Rage.  Running Wolf lives on a reservation in North Dakota, surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Running Wolf wields more power, temporal and spiritual, than any of the other Incarna, due to the sheer numbers of Garou who remain.  Although not large by any means, and steadily decreasing with each generation, they easily outnumber any of the other Changing Breeds.

In his animal form he is a massive grey timber wolf, fully 150 pounds of rippling muscle that belies the apparent frailty of his human body.  His spiritual power is equally impressive, as he is a full shaman even without the power of Fenris.  In single combat he has defeated an entire pack of Black Spiral Dancers (qv.) and left their torn bodies scattered across the ground.
